Florida Senators introduced a bill that would allow Candian snowbirds to stay in the US for up to eight months - an increase from the current six months.
The legislation would allow some Canadian citizensage 50 who own or rent a U. S. residence to remain in the country up to 240 days each year. The bill will prohibit qualifing visitors from working for American employers or seeking public assistance.
Under current law Canadians may remain in the US for up to 6 months. According to VISIT Florida, approximately 3.5 million Canadians visited Florida in 2018 alone.
